Building Ourselves Up

But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! (Jude 1:20-21 — The Message)

This is the real life; we immerse ourselves in God, allowing Him to come in and live through us in such a way that it is hard to tell where we end and He begins. He is to be our life, not Him being just a part of our life. This is real life; this is Jesus living through us. This is how we build ourselves up and stay strong, by connecting our hearts with His daily, praying, reading His love letters to us, and most of all listening to what He says to us. All of that is real life. Live the real life daily. Get and stay connected daily with His heart.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Jesus Saves

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better at using the computer.
They had been going at it for days, and God was tired of hearing all the bickering.
Finally God said , "Cool it. I am going to set up a test which will take two hours and it will judge who does the better job."

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They used the mouse.
They did spread sheets.
They wrote reports.
They sent faxes.
They sent E mail.
They sent out E mail with attachments.
They downloaded.
They did some genealogy reports.
They made cards.
They did every known job.

But ten minutes before the time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder
Rolled , the rain poured, and of course, the electricity went of. Satan stared at his blank screen
And screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

The electricity finally flickered back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started
Searching frantically screaming, "It's gone! It's all gone ! I lost everything when the power went out!

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out al his files from the past two hours. Satan observed this and became even more irate. "Wait! He cheated! How did he do it??!"

(You'll love the punch line.)

God just shrugged his shoulders and said:

JESUS SAVES!!!

The Gift We Can Give to God
Article by Tom Gilbert — ©

When we look at all the incredible things God has given us it seems impossible that we could return the favor. True enough. Don't worry, God's not looking for repayment. He gives to us freely and with love. His greatest gift of all, Jesus as the sacrifice for all of our sins and the one who redeems us and brings us fully into a relationship with God, is the springboard for all the other things He gives us. If you love someone then you will want to give to him or her. It's a natural expression of our love. In the case of God what can we possible give? It's the ultimate "what do you give to the one who has everything"? The one great gift that we can give to God is…our self. Totally. Completely. Utterly and without reservation. God wants us to abandon ourselves to Him. That's what He's looking for. He has some big plans for each of us.

Sharing

Hello, everybody:) How is your holiday? I wish that all of you would have a meaningful holiday. Maybe we seldom contact with each other during this holiday, but I believe that our hearts are always connected. So, don’t try to disconnect your heart oh!

These are the questions that I ask myself recently. Am I spending my time with God every day? Am I often praying for each others? Am I often remembering the welcoming activities in my prayer? Am I seeing the needs of others? And then, I found out that I am lost. I don’t know what I should do… The following is my prayer to Lord:

Dear LORD, please open my eyes, let me see what You want me to do and let me see the needs of people, and then provide me the help and strength to do what I should do. Dear LORD, please open my ear, let me hear Your voice and then guide me to obey Your Words. Dear LORD, please open my heart to receive Your gifts, and then using them to serve you willingly. Thank Lord that You loves me but I am sorry that I don’t know to respond Your love. Dear LORD, please teach me how to respond Your love. You know that I am weak. Now, I surrender myself to Your merciful hand. I pray that I will always walk in Your righteousness, focus on You and shine for You, Amen.

Sometimes, I don’t know how to pray… But I believe that Holy Spirit is praying inside me when I don’t how to pray…God use His love to hold me especially when I draw myself away from Him…

God has said,“ Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”-Hebrews 13:5

Dear brothers and sisters, we are weak so we need to support and encourage each others. Don’t think that I can do nothing…Everyone is precious…Everyone is important…Jia you:PSee you all soon…Jesus loves you and I love you too:)

Script for IVCC WELCOMING NIGHT sketch

Below is the script. Hope that you guys can give more ideas and suggestions to help improve it. Hopefully, by combining all of our ideas we can create a meaningful and interesting script.

Scene 1:
At home:
The main actress was reading a book when she received a sms suddenly. She read the sms: Tahniah, anda telah berjaya mendapat jurusan xxxx di UTM. She jumped up and down in joy because it was her first choice.

Main actress( after hearing the sms tone, sms tone should be funny): Eh, who sms me this early in the morning?
(After seeing sms): I can’t believe it. I got my first choice, xxxx course in UTM. Screaming WU-hu (start jumping up and down). Screaming “MUM, MUM. I got my first choice. Im going to UTM, the university very well known in engineering field. MUM, did you listen to me…….

Scene 2:
On bed at home:
The main actress couldn’t sleep because of the excitement.
Talking to herself, dreaming: Wow, I still can’t believe it that I can enter UTM. As it has the reputation of a technology university, I guess there will be wi-fi zones all around the campus, then I can still download my songs and my supernatural series. And… and there will be nice facilities, good quality teaching equipments and beautiful lecture halls. I really can’t wait to go there. All this excitement is killing me. The best part is that i can go to Singapore easily. Shopping and excitement, here I come. (giggle)

Scene 3:
After registration, carrying bags to room.
The main actress looks disappointed and down.
Sulking and talking to herself in a disappointed manner: Ahhhhhh… why is my room so dirty? So many spider webs. Looks like I need to clean up fast before the orientation. Haizzz the registration told me just now that I don’t have a roommate then i’ll be very lonely by myself.
That night, sleeping alone in room, hearing spooky sounds, the main actress can’t sleep: I’m so tired b’cos of the MHS, yet I can’t sleep. Why am I hearing weird noises? This is so horrible… My bulu roma is standing straight. Now im starting to regret that I watched too much Supernatural series….. Mum, dad, sis, ah gong, ah ma, xiao bai the cutest dog alive in the world I miss you guys……

Scene 4:
Somewhere in campus, the main actress sitting alone: It has been a week now and I can’t seem to adapt to the life here. I don’t like the food cos it’s spicy and I hate my lecturers that are so “syok sendiri”. Only they know what they’re teaching. I can’t even online properly b’cos of the unstable wireless… The worst thing is I don’t seem have any friends…sure I have those course mates but somehow we do not mix together that well. (Saying this, a group of friends pass by her and talk)
Friend 1: Hei, brother, wanna go have dinner together? I belanja….
Friend 2: Sure, why not? Got people belanja woh. Besides free, I like to listen to the word “belanja or chia”.
Listening to this, the main actress became more sad and decided to go back to her room.

Scene 5:
Outside of the room, the main actress heard some noise coming out from the room.
Main actress: Why is there sound from my room? And I swear I can hear somebody talking. I’m not so “suey” gua. Now only about 7 boh, the ghosts wouldn’t come out so early gua.
Main actress open the door slowly and saw two girls with long hair with backs facing her( one white shirt and one black): Wah, “gui” ah….
Then the two turn around and one of them say: What “gui”? I’m sorry that I scared you. Hi, I’m your new roommate, yyy. Nice to meet you and this is my senior. She’s helping me to unpack and tidy up my room.
And that’s how she got her roommate. As days pass, they become good friends.

Scene 6:
Lying on bed, the main actress coughes.
Roommate: Are you ok? You have been coughing since yesterday.
Main actress: Ya, I’m fine. I’m just sick.
Roommate: Oh, there’s definitely something wrong with you. You say that you’re ok and you’re just sick. This is the first time I heard someone say so.
Touching the main actress’s head, the roommate say: No wonderlah, your head is burning hot. Better get you to the clinic before you become worse. I’ll call my IVCC seniors to bring you there.

A few days later, the main actress is recovering. She’s alone in her room. Suddenly there is a door knock, she opened the door and saw two IVCC seniors:
Senior 1: Still remember me? I’m the “gui” that helped yyy to clean up the room that day and this is my friend.
Senior 2: Hi, nice to meet you.
Senior 1: By the way, we know that you’re sick and still recovering. This is some fruits to give you vitamin c and here’s some “tong sui” for you too. Hope that you’ll be fine soon. Have more rest, ok? If there’s anything we can help, you can tell yyy. Bye
Main actress: Thank you.
The main actress wonders why these seniors are so good to her. They do not know each other that well and so this bothers her.

Scene 7:
In room, the main actress is talking to roommate.
Main actress: Do you know that your seniors send me sms to ask if I’m healthy already? I’m really touched that they care so much about me and since the day I’m sick I have received a lot of “tong sui”. Why are they so good to me?
Roommate: Oh, only they’re good to youlah. Your roommate not goodlah. Help you dabao and take care of you…
Main actress: Oklah, you’re good to me too. Don’t be jealous…
Roommate: Just kidding.
Main actress: So seriously, why are you all so good to me?
Roommate: Ok. My seniors and me are from IVCC and we’re Christians. As a Christian, we have the duty to love those around us and help those who are in need. It’s just that simple. By the way, we’re having a Welcoming Night soon. Would you like to join us? It will be very exciting.
Main actress: I’ve never been to something like that but well, ok I guess…

Then screen shows IVCC WELCOMING NIGHT and some photos of past welcoming night and the programme starts.
